As previously reported, a total of 21,454 motorists were fined by Hampshire County Council after being caught by cameras in Alencon Link, next to the railway station, which is a pedestrian zone except for buses and taxis.
A Freedom of Information request showed the cameras raised more than £600,000 in their first year.
Hampshire County Council said work to improve the signs will begin in August.
The council said the current signs comply with traffic regulations but confirmed extra signs will be installed in August, followed by further road-marking work.
One motorist said drivers approaching from the mini roundabout near The Anvil had only a “split-second call” to avoid entering the restricted zone.
