A Cornwall Council licensing sub-committee agreed to suspend Chapel an Gansblydhen’s premises licence following a submission by Devon and Cornwall Police that the Bodmin “premises are associated with serious crime and serious disorder”. A police spokesperson told us they were currently unable to provide further details about the “crime and disorder” issues. The sub-committee resolved that the premises licence in respect of the former Wetherspoon pub on Fore Street “be suspended with immediate effect in the interest of upholding the licensing objectives”. However, another “expedited summary review” behind closed doors is listed to take place at Cornwall Council tomorrow (Wednesday, August 12) at noon. New independent management took over the running of the pub earlier this year.
