King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema welcomed Princess Akiko to Tashichhodzong, a Buddhist monastery and the seat of Bhutan’s government, earlier today. Per the Bhutan royal court, Princess Akiko “was escorted to the dzong in traditional Chhipdrel procession, and received Audience with Their Majesties in the Golden Throne Room. After, Queen Jetsun Pema and Princess Akiko carried out a joint engagement at a traditional Japanese sweet-making workshop.
