SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has revised and consolidated the norms governing ex-gratia relief for people affected by law and order disturbances, fixing compensation for deaths, disabilities, injuries and damage to property. The order also provides relief to police personnel killed or disabled in militancy-related incidents while on duly sanctioned leave. Permanent disability will attract Rs 75,000 and partial disability Rs 10,000. Permanent disability will attract Rs 75,000, while serious injury requiring hospitalisation for more than 24 hours will qualify for Rs 5,000. The amount will be subject to a maximum of Rs 7 lakh for immovable property and Rs 3 lakh for movable property.
