CRY works to prevent sudden cardiac death in young people through heart screening, research, family support and education. The race, due to start at around 2.30pm on Sunday, will form part of Lochgelly Gala Day at the town’s Public Park. She said: “We invite our community to come together for Finlay’s Memorial Race, a celebration of the life of a truly special teenager who brought so much joy, laughter and kindness to everyone who knew him. CRY says 12 young people aged 35 and under in the UK die suddenly every week from previously undiagnosed heart conditions. Donations can be made to CRY in Finlay’s memory through the charity’s website.
