This 2K progression workout gives you a chance to practise patience early in your race and run hard when your legs are already tired.
Work it into your schedule in place of a regular speed session, and you’ll soon be closing in on that 10K PB.
The workout: Run 3 x 2K with three minutes of easy jogging between repetitions.
Run the first 2K slightly slower than your 10K goal pace.
Follow the same progression: start a little slower than goal pace, move to goal pace, and finish slightly faster.
