Jorge Martín started from pole position but dropped a few places after a less-than-ideal getaway, before fighting back to second. The result keeps Martín at the top of the championship standings with 240 points. Marco Bezzecchi, starting from fifth on the grid, made a strong start to immediately move into the leading group.
