MALAKAND, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) The Malakand Forest Department has launched a tree-planting campaign in the Nalo Lodigram mountains in collaboration with the Mishal Welfare Trust Thana. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Malakand Wasim Khan inaugurated the campaign by planting a chinar sapling. DFO, Wasim Khan said planting trees was also a religious duty and urged people to plant and protect at least one sapling each. He said a target had been set to plant 1.4 million saplings across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on August, 14, adding of these, 51,600 saplings would be planted in Malakand district. Khan called on residents to actively participate in the August 14 plantation campaign to help make Pakistan “clean and green”.
