– Talbot County Public Schools (TCPS) are implementing a new phone policy ahead of the 2026-2027 school year. Starting Aug. 24, TCPS says they will follow a “no cell, bell to bell” model for all students, which prohibits cell phones, smartwatches, headphones, earbuds and/or other personal communication devices during the school day. A pilot version of this program was authorized at Easton Middle School in the 2024-2025 school year, and conducted using Yondr cell phone pouches. “We appreciate the TCPS community’s partnership as we implement these new expectations to help support student success.” TCPS says they expect there will be an adjustment period for both students and staff, and students who do not comply with the new policy will face consequences.
