Daniel Dominguez – a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, CSU doctoral student and Colorado Water Fellows program coordinator – has received a 2026 Pat Tillman Scholarship, one of only 60 scholars named nationwide. One of the nation’s most prestigious and competitive merit-based fellowships for U.S. military service members and veterans, the Pat Tillman Foundation selects scholars based on their commitment to service, exceptional leadership, academic achievement and potential to create lasting societal impact. “Daniel really embodies that concept,” said Jessica Thrasher, Dominguez’s supervisor in his role coordinating the Colorado Water Center’s Colorado Water Fellows program at CSU. A current doctoral student in watershed sciences, his data-driven research is supporting the Colorado Water Center’s Water Quality and Access Program, addressing drinking water challenges for Colorado mobile home park residents. “I think that there’s still a lot of unevenness when it comes to who can access good quality drinking water,” Dominguez said.
