Saudi Arabia imported 710 metric tonnes, Norway 518 metric tonnes and Qatar 418 metric tonnes. Other destinations included Japan with 251 metric tonnes, the United States with 248 metric tonnes, Canada with 227 metric tonnes, Sweden with 175 metric tonnes and Bahrain with 171 metric tonnes. Iran received 30,016 metric tonnes, while exports to Afghanistan more than doubled from 11,309 metric tonnes in 2022 to 26,369 metric tonnes in 2023. Iran emerged as the largest market in 2024, importing 53,205 metric tonnes, while the UAE received 42,723 metric tonnes and Afghanistan accounted for 19,858 metric tonnes. In 2025, the UAE again became the largest destination, receiving 35,783 metric tonnes, followed by Iran with 27,632 metric tonnes and Afghanistan with 23,403 metric tonnes.
