Rebecca Sánchez, a longtime faculty member and academic leader at The University of New Mexico (UNM) who has served for the past year as interim associate vice provost for academic personnel, has been selected as UNM’s senior vice provost. Rebecca Sánchez named senior vice provost. Rodriguez previously served as senior vice provost from 2018 until July 2025, when she was named interim provost. She was selected as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs in June 2026. As senior vice provost, Sánchez will be a key member of the Academic Affairs leadership team, working closely with the provost and academic leaders across the University on matters central to faculty success and the academic mission.
