An FIA official told APP on Monday that the action was taken under Inquiry No. 522/2026 immediately after the complaint was received by AHTC Islamabad. The complainant told the FIA that the suspect had received Rs400,000 through bank transactions in different instalments during 2024, promising to arrange an overseas visa within nine to 10 months. However, despite the passage of nearly two years, the suspect allegedly neither arranged the visa nor returned the money. Acting on the complaint, AHTC Islamabad initiated an inquiry and succeeded in recovering the entire Rs400,000 from the suspect at the inquiry stage, which was subsequently handed over to the complainant.
