In a press statement issued on Monday, Maulana Qureshi said the nation would celebrate two occasions together this year-- Independence Day and Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). He described the coincidence as a divine blessing and called upon people to celebrate both occasions with unity and devotion. He also urged political parties to set aside their differences and play their role in reducing political tensions and instability in the country. Referring to Pakistan’s agreements with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, Maulana Qureshi said the developments had frustrated Pakistan’s adversaries. Regarding relations with Afghanistan, Maulana Qureshi said Pakistan wanted better ties with its neighbouring country.
