Young NBCC paddlers make their mark at Eastern Ontario Championships The competition served as a selection event for the Ontario Championships, which will be held this weekend in Ottawa at the Rideau Canoe Club Photo by SUBMITTEDArticle content The new generation of North Bay Canoe Club (NBCC) paddlers took to the water last weekend at the U12-U14 Eastern Ontario Division (EOD) Championships in Carleton Place, gaining valuable racing experience against athletes from clubs across Ontario. These training groups have been coached by former NBCC athletes Oscar Graves and Carson Vierich. He competed in both the U14 K1 and C1 events, earning a bronze medal in C1 and a 10th-place finish in K1. Clouthier competed individually in the U14 K1 event, finishing 13th in a very deep field of more than 30 athletes. These U12 and U14 athletes will join other athletes competing in the U16, U18, Special O and Masters categories as representatives of NBCC.
