38 million in outstanding dues and initiated action against 27 suspected electricity thieves in its Mandhran subdivision during the last month. The power supply to a 100-kVA transformer was also disconnected after electricity theft was detected. Irfanullah said the campaign against electricity theft and illegal connections would continue without discrimination. He said power theft caused losses to the national exchequer, increased line losses and adversely affected the electricity supply system. He said the measures taken during July to curb electricity theft, reduce line losses and recover outstanding dues had yielded positive results.
