ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notices to the respondents and sought comments by tomorrow in a case regarding delay in approval of a summary for the appointment of new judges to the Islamabad and other high courts. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked that the summary could not simply be kept pending, adding that 18 days had now passed. Additional Attorney General Rashid Hafeez informed the court that the President could no longer reject the summary. The Islamabad High Court sought a response from the Federal government by Tuesday and adjourned further hearing of the case. The court has served notices to federal government, Ministry of Law and Justice, principal secretaries to the President and Prime Minister.
