Spotify unveils new plans to distinguish AI artists from real musiciansSpotify have announced plans to roll out new AI Persona badges to distinguish AI artists from genuine musicians. Notably, artists who are deemed to be AI Personas will be denied access to be featured in “editorial or algorithmic recommendations”. The Swedish streaming platform explained, “This means you won’t see music from AI Personas personalized to you unless you follow them. Through the Spotify for Artists platform, AI-generated accounts can now declare themselves to be AI Personas, however, Spotify insist “we won’t rely solely on self-disclosure”. Back in May, it introduced the Verified by Spotify badge, which will only be applicable to genuine artists who have verified their identity, and they hoped would clamp down on AI artists.
