RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) A local court on Monday sentenced drug supplier Shahzad to nine years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 following effective prosecution by Rawalpindi Police. According to a police spokesperson, Chaklala Police arrested Shahzad in December 2025 after recovering 1. 66 kilograms of hashish from his possession. The spokesperson said the case was effectively prosecuted and strong evidence was presented before the court, resulting in the conviction and sentence of the accused. He said Rawalpindi Police was taking all possible measures to eradicate the menace of drugs and bring drug suppliers to justice.
