A potential strike by CapMetro bus drivers appears to have been avoided after the union representing workers reached a tentative contract agreement with transit contractor Keolis. Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1091 announced the agreement following months of negotiations. “We are pleased to announce that after long negotiations, Local 1091 has reached a tentative agreement with Keolis,” ATU Local 1091 President and Business Agent Brent Payne said. Drivers previously appeared before the CapMetro Board to push for a new agreement, while union members authorized a potential strike as negotiations continued. The tentative agreement must still be approved by union members.
