Progress, competitiveness, and economic security are never achieved alone. In today’s context, there are at least two examples that promise to bring significant changes to the Philippines’ economic journey and advance our status on the global stage: the Luzon Economic Corridor and, as part of it, Pax Silica. The Luzon Economic Corridor is a tripartite economic initiative among the Philippines, the United States, and Japan, which seeks to mobilize investments along the Subic Bay-Clark-Manila-Batangas corridor. PAX SILICAMeanwhile, because of its focus on strategic technologies including artificial intelligence, Pax Silica would be an excellent complement to the LEC initiative. This would be designated by the Philippines as an economic security zone.
