Minister Abdelatty emphasised strengthening economic, trade and investment relations, building on momentum from the third Egypt‑UK Association Council in June. They agreed to maintain close consultation to support stability and political solutions. He also addressed water security and the Horn of Africa, reiterating Egypt’s rejection of unilateral measures affecting Nile Basin states and stressing regional stability. For his part, Miliband praised Egypt’s role in promoting Middle East stability and affirmed the UK’s commitment to strengthening ties and coordination with Cairo.
