AYALA-LED ACEN Corp. posted an attributable net income of P977.8 million for the second quarter (Q2), reversing a P1.19-billion net loss a year earlier, driven by stronger generation output. For the first six months, ACEN’s attributable net income increased more than fivefold to P3.9 billion from P763 million in the same period last year. ACEN’s attributable renewable energy portfolio grew to 7,517 megawatts (MW), following the groundbreaking of battery energy storage projects in the Philippines with a combined capacity of 1,660 megawatt-hours (MWh). ACEN’s operations in Australia contributed P2.2 billion after generating 862 GWh during the period, up 56% from a year earlier. “The growing global emphasis on indigenous renewable energy presents significant opportunities for ACEN,” ACEN Chief Finance Officer and Chief Strategy Officer Jonathan Back said.
