KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir on Monday imposed a ban on aerial firing, one-wheeling and other potentially dangerous activities ahead of Independence Day celebrations. According to an official notification issued here the restrictions, imposed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, also prohibit the sale and use of pressure and toy horns, firecrackers and toy guns, display of weapons and use of vehicles with tinted windows. The order also bars swimming in rivers and dams to prevent accidents and loss of life during the celebrations. The administration said the measures were aimed at ensuring public safety, preventing property damage and curbing noise pollution during Independence Day festivities. Violators of the restrictions would face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the notification warned.
