Michele Wilson Szabo and her company, American Log Homes and Cabins (ALHC), left customers footing the bill when her log cabin kit business ended in January.
According to a Charlotte Observer report, customers nationwide paid between approximately $14,500 and more than $25,000 for log cabin kits before the company collapsed, leaving many without homes and without the money they paid for them.
Szabo's attorney denies the criminal charges, arguing the business operated for 24 years without issues and that Szabo intended to keep it running.
That meant people who'd paid for log cabin kits would get nothing.”
American Log Homes and Cabins operated in North Carolina for more than two decades under several names, including The Great American Log Company and Log Concepts LLC.
