SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) The Sindh Information Commission on Monday organized an awareness seminar at Arts Council Sukkur to sensitize designated officers of government departments on their responsibilities under the Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2016. Addressing the seminar, Senior Commissioner of the Commission, Muhammad Saleem Khan, said the first Information Commission in Sindh was established in 2017 under the RTI law. He said the Right to Information is a legal right of every citizen and the Sindh Information Commission is an independent, autonomous body empowered to exercise the powers of a civil court. Executive Director Zulfiqar Sheikh also addressed the seminar and highlighted the objectives and importance of providing accurate, complete and timely information to the public. On the occasion, the performance of various departments, particularly the Police Department, in providing information under the RTI law was appreciated.
