LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a province-wide crackdown on large-scaletax evasion and manipulation of sales records by restaurants, hotels and marriage halls. The PRA has imposed a complete ban on the issuance of manual or informal receipts acrossthe province, with notifications issued in this regard. The issuance of kitchen order slips, unpaid bills or similar documentsin place of proper tax invoices to customers had also been completely prohibited. Businesseswould be required to issue customers proper receipts clearly displaying the business name,address, receipt number and PRA QR code. PRA enforcementofficers will ensure immediate action against businesses found violating the applicable tax lawsand e-IMS requirements.
