HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2026) An orientation session was held here on Monday at Taluka Headquarters Hospital Sakrand to ensure the effective and successful implementation of the Polio Booster Dose Campaign in riverine (Katcha) areas of Taluka Sakrand, as part of the national mission for polio eradication. Participants were given a detailed briefing on the objectives of Polio Booster Dose Campaign, responsibilities of vaccination teams, access to children in riverine areas, parental awareness, social mobilization and effective monitoring of the campaign. During the session, Dr.Javed Qureshi and others informed the participants that Polio Booster Dose Campaign would continue from 20 to 31 August 2026 in 9 Union Councils of the riverine areas of Taluka Sakrand and Qazi Ahmed. During campaign, children aged 4 months to 10 years would be administered Fractional Inactivated Polio Vaccine (fIPV), along with Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV). The participants were directed to extend full cooperation to Health Department during campaign, create awareness among parents and communities about the importance of polio vaccination, and ensure that no child is missed or remains deprived of Polio Booster Dose.
