The latest action has brought the total number of illegal petrol units taken into government custody to 95. During the past month, 43 people have also been arrested and fines amounting to Rs100,000 imposed in operations against illegal fuel units. Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem said strict and indiscriminate action would continue against petrol units operating without the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC), stressing that the protection of human lives and public safety would not be compromised. He directed the relevant departments to further intensify the crackdown and take action against illegal units without succumbing to any pressure.
