He was addressing a National Minorities Day ceremony organized by the Unique Group of Institutions at its Johar Town Campus, here.
The minister said Pakistan was the shared identity of all its citizens and every Pakistani should take pride in the country.
He stressed the need to project Pakistan internationally as a country where followers of all religions enjoyed equal status and constitutional protections.
He said the purpose of observing National Minorities Day was to acknowledge the role of minorities in national progress and promote harmony, equality and mutual respect.
Bishop of Lahore Nadeem Kamran, Punjab Assembly member Shakeela Arthur, Secretary Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Usman Ali Khan, Prof Ashok Kumar and Principal Johar Town Campus Khamad Ejaz also addressed the ceremony.
