['Brian Steinberg']
Variety
Tammy Fine, a veteran NBC News producer who spent a significant part of her career overseeing key newsmaker interviews in the first hour of “Today,” is getting a new passel of responsibilities.
Fine has been named vice president of talent development at NBC News, and will lead efforts to develop careers and find up and coming journalists who might join the overall team.
The announcement was made Tuesday in a memo from Rebecca Blumenstein, president of NBC News Editorial; Cheryl Rosenbloom, executive vice president of global human resources of NBCUniversal News Group; and Libby Leist, the executive vice president of “Today” and lifestyle programming.
The executive started with NBC News as an intern on “NBC Nightly News” in 1993.
Kristen Powers, who joined as a talent-development executive earlier this year, will report to both Fine and to Catherine Kim, executive vice president of editorial for NBC News.
