Speaking to journalists, they said Pakistan was a responsible nuclear state whose defence capabilities were aimed at safeguarding its sovereignty, national security and the lives and property of its people.
They maintained that enhanced defence cooperation with brotherly countries including Saudi Arabia and Türkiye would have considerable diplomatic and strategic significance for Pakistan.
They stressed that the fundamental objective of any defence cooperation should be to deter aggression and strengthen peace, sovereignty and regional stability rather than promote conflict.
They also pointed out that national security in the modern era was not limited to the defence of territorial borders.
Economic stability, advanced technology, cyber security, diplomatic strength and national cohesion were equally important components of a strong national defence.
