Section 144 imposed in Kohat to ensure peaceful Aug 14 celebrations

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz, the restrictions have been imposed for 30 days with immediate effect.
The notification specifically highlighted that the use of pressure horns and toy horns by vehicles and the general public causes significant nuisance, irritation, and hazardous noise pollution.
Under Section 144 have been strictly prohibited across the district like sale and use of pressure horns and toy horns, sale and purchase of firecrackers and toy guns, display of weapons, one-wheeling on motorcycles, use of vehicles with tinted glasses and aerial firing.
The Deputy Commissioner warned that any violation of these orders would be punishable under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The order comes into force immediately and will remain effective for the stipulated 30-day period unless withdrawn earlier, the notification concluded.
