According to official sources, preparations for Independence Day celebrations are in full swing across the city on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Liberty Chowk will be illuminated with national-colour lights to mark Independence Day. The Horticulture Agency Lahore will also organise fireworks displays at four locations: Greater Iqbal Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, Liberty Chowk and Adda Plot, Jati Umra. Major roads and historic buildings across Lahore will be decorated with special lighting, while attractive monuments and Independence Day messages will also be installed along major thoroughfares. The arrangements are aimed at celebrating Independence Day in a befitting manner with national spirit and enthusiasm.
