Despite operating under the same umbrella and even publishing comic books together, Marvel's pantheon of superheroes had never fully crossed over with Star Wars, at least until now, with the confirmation of Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles. The five-part monthly series, revealed by Entertainment Weekly, will feature a proper story mixing iconic groups like the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and more with the characters and factions of Star Wars for the first time ever. CloseLaunching January 2027, the series is set to be written by iconic writer/director/actor Kevin Smith (Daredevil, Green Arrow, Batman) and illustrated by David Marquez (Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men). The series is confirmed to bring the characters of Star Wars to Earth-616, bringing heroes and villains alike from both universes to intermingle as the project commemorates 50 years since the original Star Wars film released in 1977, almost certainly concluding on the month marking its anniversary.
