Mr Grainger, now 61, is speaking out about the importance of timely stroke care as part of a campaign by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS). Mr Grainger has been supported by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland. Mr Grainger says that the recovery process was arduous but believes he is fortunate compared to other stroke survivors. Asked if he had any advice for people who have recently had a stroke, Mr Grainger says:“It’s really important to speak to someone. The survey found that 57% of Scotland’s more than 11,000 stroke patients received an inpatient ‘stroke bundle’, short of the government’s 80% target.
