GOALS from two trialists helped Stratford Town to a 2-1 pre-season victory against an Aston Villa XI in midweek. The Bards turned the game in its head after Rory Wilson’s early goal put a young Villa side ahead at the Arden Garages Stadium. Stratford produced the perfect response to defeat against National League side Kidderminster after shipping five goals in their previous outing. Villa broke the deadlock after just 11 minutes when a ball through the lines found Wilson who confidently found the net. Stratford conclude their pre-season schedule with a home game against Hungerford Town on Saturday, August 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
