NORTON Lindsey CC’s promotion hopes suffered a blow following a three-wicket defeat against Ashton-Under-Hill. Norton could only manage 148 all out in 35 overs despite an unbeaten half-century from Toby White at Wolverton Road. And Ashton-Under-Hill reached the required total in 32.1 overs despite the best efforts of the Norton attack. The result means Norton sit third in the Cotswold Hills League First Division table, 14 points behind FISSC who occupy the final promotion spot. Defending a modest total, Norton made early inroads with the ball as Ollie Watson (2-11) put Ashton under pressure.
