The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is entering a new phase of Azerbaijan’s regional development strategy. The development of Nakhchivan has always held a special place in the political agenda of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Transforming Nakhchivan into a regional transportation hub is particularly significant in terms of expanding Azerbaijan’s economic ties with Turkey. Thus, on the future transportation map, Nakhchivan has the potential to become a hub not only for railways and highways but also for strategic energy corridors. Trade routes, logistics corridors, railways, energy infrastructure, and future industrial clusters passing through Nakhchivan will make the autonomous republic one of the main pillars of Azerbaijan’s regional economic strategy.
