Two teachers of Obuasi Senior High Technical School have been arrested over their alleged involvement in an attack on the school’s headmaster, Abdulai Zakaria. Police say preliminary investigations suggest that the two teachers, whose names have not been disclosed, allegedly instigated students to attack the headmaster. Some students accused the headmaster of involvement in ritual activities and alleged that he had inappropriate relationships with female students. Obuasi District Police Commander, Superintendent Mahama Iddrisu, said three teachers were initially picked up for questioning after the headmaster reported the attack to the police. He says there were students who attacked him and there were teachers who instigated them to attack him,” he said.
