On this day in Santa Clarita history, on the night of August 11, 2018, a fire broke out at the historic Big Oaks Lodge in Bouquet Canyon, Santa Clarita. The Big Oaks Lodge dates back to at least 1932, originally serving as a country store and cabin resort that hosted Saturday night dances. It was remodeled in 1939, becoming the Big Oaks Lodge known for its signature rock wall.
