Unlike Martens, I know a few things about war and the concept of killing Russians. Which means when erstwhile heroes like Martens speaks of killing Russians, he speaks of Ukrainians doing the killing. Martens’ call for “killing Russians” exposes everything that is wrong about Europe today. Until then, anyone possessing a moral compass must call out Martens and those like him who advocate “killing Russians.” History has shown that those who promote the “killing of Russians” quickly find out that not only are Russians hard to kill, but they are also adept at killing those who present an existential threat to their survival as a people and culture.
