THE appointment of Andy Burnham as Prime Minister marks a new chapter for our country. They want a genuine change of direction, with decisions that reflect the needs and aspirations of local communities. We need the right homes in the right places, with a genuine brownfield-first approach that protects our countryside while ensuring new housing is supported by the roads, schools, GP surgeries and other essential infrastructure that growing communities need. These are not abstract political debates, they are the everyday concerns that residents bring to me week after week. The Prime Minister has spoken about resetting the country’s priorities.
