The Bridgwater Franciscan Friary display, curated by local historian Dr Hannah West, opened at The Blake Museum on Wednesday, August 5, and will run until Saturday, September 5. It offers an insight into the history of the town's Grey Friars and their crucial role. The exhibition explores questions that have intrigued local historians for years, such as who the Grey Friars were, where the friary stood, the size of the site, and what life inside the friary was like. Combining historical evidence and interpretation, the exhibition tells the story of a once-important religious community in Bridgwater. The exhibition offers an opportunity to explore a hidden part of Bridgwater's heritage.
