THERE have been 134 deliberate fires in Warwickshire so far this year, with fears this number could increase over the summer. There were a total of 325 deliberate fires in 2025. WCC’s fire and rescue spokesperson Coun Robert Gisbourne said: ”Every deliberate fire has the potential to become a serious incident. Even small fires can quickly escalate, especially during hot and dry weather when fire spreads much more rapidly. Deliberate fire setting is not only dangerous but can also be a criminal offence, with serious consequences for those involved.
