The second last Household Hazardous Waste Day of the year is coming up this weekend. Residents in the region can bring the waste to the South Leeds County Patrol Garage north of the Village of Landsdowne or the Delta Fairgrounds on Saturday. The depots are open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and examples of what can be dropped off include batteries, light bulbs, propane tanks, antifreeze and gas, oil and oil filters. Items that won’t be accepted include ammunition and commercial and industrial waste. The last hazardous waste day is planned for Saturday, Oct. 24.
