Stratford college leaders commit to sustainability after carbon literacy training
['Hours Ago']
The Stratford Observer
Senior leaders at Stratford-upon-Avon College and its partner institution, Solihull College & University Centre, have taken part in Carbon Literacy Training as part of a wider push towards more sustainable practices.
Fifteen members of the joint Senior Leadership Team completed the training, which covered the causes and consequences of climate change, alongside topics including climate policy, climate justice and how to communicate effectively about environmental issues.
The training was delivered by Megan Wakefield, a lecturer and the college’s Curriculum Sustainability Lead, together with colleague Craig McCauley.
She added that senior leaders were well placed to drive cultural change within the college, given their influence, and noted that staff and students were already involved in efforts to develop greener habits and skills.
The college plans to extend the training to further staff during future College Development Days.
