The Plateau State Government has endorsed and launched a strategic food security plan aimed at strengthening the state’s agricultural system and improving food security. Speaking at the event, the Regional Programme Manager of SPRING, Mujidang Sitang, said that, in addition to the strategic food security plan, the programme had also developed an early warning and early response framework for the state. According to him, the project was implemented with a high level of professionalism, expressing confidence that the food security plan would be effective and sustainable. “I urge each of us to remain focused on the bigger picture of the plan: a Nigeria where food security is a reality for every household,” he said. He said the initiative was also targeted at promoting peace and security in communities, stressing that food security could not be achieved without peace and security.
