Two separate fire outbreaks occurred in Kano State on Monday, destroying parts of an Access Bank branch in Dawanau and a residential building in Kumbotso Local Government Area.
The Kano State Fire Service said firefighters contained both incidents and prevented the flames from spreading to adjoining sections of the affected properties.
The first fire occurred at about 1:17 p.m. at the Access Bank branch in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, following a distress call received by the agency’s control room.
The fire was quickly brought under control before it could spread to the main bank building.
According to the Fire Service, firefighters from the Sharada Industrial Area Fire Station arrived at the scene to find a residential building ablaze.
