Mushroom cultivation training progs conclude

PASIGHAT, 6 Aug: A series of training programmes conducted by Pasighat-based Mushroom Development Centre (MDC) from 27 July under the Arunachal Pradesh Mushroom Development Mission (APMDM), BE 2025-26, to promote mushroom cultivation and strengthen rural livelihoods, concluded here in East Siang district on Thursday.
The training focused on oyster mushroom cultivation, highlighting its low production cost, ease of cultivation, strong market demand, and potential as a sustainable income-generating enterprise.
The training featured hands-on practical sessions, demonstration-based learning, and distribution of mushroom grow kits to enable the participants to immediately begin cultivation at the household level.
Pasighat-based College of Agriculture’s Plant Pathology Associate Professor Dr N Surmina Devi conducted technical sessions on scientific mushroom cultivation as the resource person.
Officials of the Horticulture Department, including District Horticulture Officer Oyin Tayeng, Horticulture Development Officer Oyi Modi, Horticulture Marketing Officer Bini Tagom, and MDC HDO in-charge Nuka Dai were present during the programmes.
